Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2025

Overview and scope

This Privacy Policy describes how the HomeHunter app handles information. HomeHunter is designed with privacy by default. The app does not collect, store, or transmit personal data to us. No account or login is required, no data is saved to the cloud, and we do not use analytics or trackers of any kind (neither first-party nor third-party). This Policy is intended to meet the requirements of major privacy regulations worldwide, including the EU/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA (California), LGPD (Brazil), PIPEDA (Canada), and other similar laws.

Key points at a glance

  • No personal data collection
  • No registration or login
  • No cloud storage; data remains on your device
  • No analytics, tracking, advertising IDs, or profiling
  • No data sharing, selling, or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising

Information we collect

None. We do not collect, receive, or process personal data. The app operates locally on your device and does not transmit your information to our servers.

Local processing and device permissions

Any notes, preferences, media, or configuration you create within the app are stored locally on your device and remain under your control. If the app requests device permissions (for example, storage or camera), these are used solely to deliver the requested features on your device. Permission-based data is not collected, transmitted, or shared with us.

Camera

  • Purpose: Capture photos of properties and attach them to your entries within the app.
  • Data handling: Photos are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
  • Optional: You can deny camera access; the app remains usable, but you will not be able to take photos from within the app.
  • Revoke: You can disable camera permission at any time via your device settings.

Photos/Gallery

  • Purpose: Select existing photos from your device’s gallery to attach to property entries.
  • Data handling: Selected photos remain on your device; references or copies saved by the app are local only.
  • Scoped access: On supported platforms, the app requests scoped access limited to the items you select.
  • Optional: You can deny access to photos; the app remains usable without gallery selection features.
  • Revoke: You can disable photos permission at any time via your device settings.

Storage (Files)

  • Purpose: Access files to attach to entries and to enable export/import of your data and attachments.
  • Data handling: All files created or read by the app are processed locally. Exported files are saved locally or to locations you explicitly choose.
  • Scoped/limited access: Where available (e.g., Android scoped storage, iOS file pickers), the app uses system pickers and only accesses files you select.
  • Optional: You can deny storage access; the app remains usable, but export/import and file attachments will be limited.
  • Revoke: You can disable storage permission at any time via your device settings.

Cookies and local storage

HomeHunter does not use cookies or third-party tracking technologies. The app uses on-device local storage only to save your data and preferences. This storage is confined to your device; no data is transmitted to external services or cloud providers.

Export: When you use the export feature, the app creates a file containing your data. You choose where to save it (e.g., on your device or a location you select) and whether to share or upload it elsewhere. You remain in full control of exported files. If you later import data, the operation occurs locally using the file you provide.

No account and no tracking

HomeHunter does not require an account or login and does not integrate analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash reporters that transmit data, or tracking technologies. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not conduct targeted advertising or profiling.

When you contact us

If you contact us (e.g., via email at support@homehunter.app), we will receive the information you provide (such as your email address and the content of your message) in order to respond to your inquiry. We process such information solely to provide support and for record-keeping consistent with applicable laws. Legal bases (where applicable, e.g., under GDPR) may include legitimate interests in responding to your request and/or steps at your request prior to entering into a contract. We keep such correspondence only as long as necessary for these purposes and to comply with legal obligations.

Legal basis for support emails (GDPR)

For support communications, our legal basis under GDPR is legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in responding to your request and maintaining necessary service records.

Retention for support emails

We retain support emails for 24 months from the date of the last correspondence, unless a longer period is required to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Your privacy rights

Because we do not collect personal data through the app, most privacy rights (e.g., access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, opt-out of sale/share) generally do not apply to in-app activity. You can manage or delete your in-app data directly on your device (for example, by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app). If you have contacted us and wish to exercise applicable rights over that correspondence, please write to support@homehunter.app.

California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by California law and do not conduct cross-context behavioral advertising. For any information you voluntarily send us (e.g., support emails), you may request deletion by contacting us.

International data transfers

There are no international transfers related to your in-app activity, as no personal data is collected or transmitted off your device. If you contact us, any related processing may involve transfers depending on our email and support infrastructure; when this occurs, we apply appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

Security

We design HomeHunter so that personal data is not collected. Data stored locally on your device is protected by your device’s security features (e.g., PIN, password, or biometrics). We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using built-in security protections.

Children’s privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because we do not collect any personal data via the app, there is no in-app information for us to process. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data to us via communications (e.g., email), please contact us to request deletion.

Data retention

We do not retain personal data from in-app activity. Any information you create within the app remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. For support communications you send us, we retain them only as long as necessary to respond and comply with applicable laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements, legal requirements, or clarifications. We will indicate the effective date at the top. Your continued use of the app after changes become effective signifies your acceptance of the updated policy.

For any questions about this Privacy Policy or to exercise applicable rights regarding information you have sent us, please contact: support@homehunter.app. If we appoint a representative or data protection officer in the future, we will update this Policy accordingly.
